International Women's Day '26

Women supporting women: Vibeke Panduro, The Table Project

In celebration of International Women's Day 2026, we are turning the spotlight on female entrepreneurship, the strength of community, and the courage it takes to build your own working life. We invite 10 women in and give space to their stories.

Meet Vibeke Panduro, the founder of The Table Project. Vibeke has had a diverse working life, from midwife to many years at Skagerak alongside her husband. When they sold Skagerak in 2022, there was no doubt: she would continue working with the Japanese porcelain, and she did so under The Table Project.

The Table Project has grown into a universe of dining tableware, drinking glasses, and collaborations with Danish ceramicists.

What do you do, and what was your journey toward becoming self-employed?

I have had a very diverse working life. I worked for many years as a midwife until I joined Skagerak, where I worked together with Jesper, my husband, for the next many years. When we sold Skagerak in 2022, there was no doubt that I would continue as self-employed with Japanese porcelain. It has developed into a dining table, drinking glasses, and collaborations with Danish ceramicists. There is definitely more to come.

What does being self-employed mean to you?

Being self-employed has been part of our life for many years, and I would not want to live any other way. I greatly value the freedom in my work. Naturally, I deeply appreciate being off during public holidays with my family, which for many years was not a given as a midwife.

What is the best part about running your own business?

I love my small business. It gives me meaning and substance. One of the good things about being self-employed is that your working hours are your own. There are certainly many more hours involved, but the feeling is defined differently, and you can sit with your computer in the sun and work with a cup of tea. But you can also carry boxes in the warehouse and make countless trips to GLS. All of it with a smile on your face.

Has there been a moment where you truly felt: "this is the reason I do it"?

It is most often those moments when people are gathered and happy together, when we have something to celebrate.

And certainly also when we visit the Japanese producer in Arita. I love Japan and their traditions of craftsmanship. It nourishes my inner aesthete.

What gives you courage or energy when you doubt?

My husband does.

How do you experience community or support from other women in your working life?

I mostly experience female community with my friends, and in my working life I experience community with other self-employed people, both women and men.

Women supporting women

SÆTTER is a company founded and run by women, built on community and the belief that we are stronger when we support one another.

Throughout March 2026, we invite a group of female entrepreneurs, designers, and makers into our universe. Through editorial stories and a curated pop-up on saetter.dk, we share one selected object from each woman alongside her journey, giving space to different perspectives on female entrepreneurship.

To us, women supporting women is about saying each other's names out loud, sharing opportunities, and making space for more voices. Happy International Women's Day from SÆTTER.
